   I’ve been told by a business etiquette coach that boots (except possibly ankle boots) are not appropriate business attire. If you wear them, it should not be obvious that they are boots, and therefore should be covered by pants or entirely by the skirt.

   Just look at what your bosses and senior management wears—-and follow suit. That’s always the best way to be on the safe side. Think about it in this context: if you ran into the CEO/President of your company wearing those boots and skirt, would you be comfortable with your attire?

    I’m sure it would be fine. Might not be very comfortable to wear them all day though, especially if you are sitting down a lot, but you could take some shoes to change into when you get there.
